Love is Love
Love, Risk, Trust, Listen, Share, Honour, Laugh
Over the past 15 years here at The Lodge, I have organised and ran lots of same sex marriages, and I have to say I am still friendly with many couples even after all these years.
Every ceremony is different, sometimes there is a candle-lighting ceremony that involves parents helping to signify the union and the blending of two souls, involve whoever makes you happy.
Reserve the important parts of your day for those who love you and support you the most.
I have many stories I could share with you, here is one of them…
Joanne and Liz got married here at The Lodge, what an amazing couple with so much class and style.
Joanne
We have been together for 16 years and live happily in East Kilbride with our dog Daisy, close to both our families which is very important to us.
We both love our jobs in teaching and enjoy spending our spare time with friends and family. We enjoy making the most of our school holidays by travelling and exploring new places.
We met back in 2000 when we worked together whilst studying at University.
Much to my surprise on a cosy night in at home, Liz proposed!
We were keen to find a venue that was welcoming of same sex weddings as well as offering exclusive use in a spectacular setting. The Lodge ticked everything on our list!
Truly magical from beginning to end. We felt so welcome on our first visit, we knew within minutes it was the venue for us.
The weekend of our wedding was absolutely perfect. Our friends and family still comment that it was the best wedding they have ever been to.
We visited the Lodge again to celebrate our first anniversary, it was every bit as wonderful as we remembered.

One piece of advice I can give you…
Always remember! Don’t ask people to the wedding who are the slightest bit judgmental, take them out for lunch before the big day.
Remember why you are doing this, you want to look around the room and feel amazing, confident and most of all very comfortable, especially on the most important day of your lives.
Learn to communicate your deepest feelings
Always embrace your sexuality as a special and sacred part of your life.
